Cat Bordhi, You Rock!!!!

OK, so I cheated and got Socks Soar on Two Circular Needles even before the sock knitting class on July 9. I dove right in and started using the techniques in the book, but instead of using #1, 2 or 3 needles, I used #9s and some heavy worsted weight. Wow! In one evening I had an abbreviated leg, a heel flap, turned the heel, and started the gusset! I was so surprised and excited. Well, of course that meant a trip to the LYS for sock yarn and at least two Addi Turbo Circulars. Over $100 later, I zoomed home to try my first sock!! My favorite yarn is the gorgeous and fun Regia rainbow-colored stuff. Look!

I guess you are wondering, "Is she still gonna take the sock knitting class?" Yeah, I guess so. If nothing else, I'll get better at DPNs, which must be useful for something, but right now I can't imagine what. Maybe mitten thumbs.

I heart you, Cat Bordhi! The feet of America thank you!!!

I am impressed woman! Seems like you dont need no stinkin sock class!

DPNs are not that bad, and kinda cute once you get the hang of them.

Good for you. I've been thinking of buying this book (although I like my DPNs) just to learn a new technique--it seems to have helped you out quite a bit!
