Annual Gardening Day

I usually get the urge to garden about twice a year, and give in to that urge once. This time I had an assistant. She thought digging was cool, and enjoyed throwing around grass seed, too. She said, "Pretty flowers, Mommy."

I also cast on the latest new project, a v-neck cardigan sweater for dh using the Suri Merino yarn. It's gonna take awhile, but it'll be soft.

WIPS Update

Well, I'm back from the Gulf Coast in Florida. The sweater for dh is essentially finished, thanks to Paloma lending me her plastic needles so I could knit on the plane!! It is being blocked right now, so it only needs to be sewn together. Hooray!

King's Sewing and Knitting Center turned out to be an awesome yarn store. I came away with Plymouth's Suri (worsted weight alpaca/merino blend) in a luscious color of pale green at the request of dh for the "next sweater." I also got a book of Noro patterns and the Interweave Crochet magazine. There is an adorable shrug in there I have to make. If any of you are in the Pensacola area, go to this store!

I'll let you know what I decide to make with the new yarn, it sure is gorgeous and soft.

Happy Easter, Everyone!

We were at the mall today, having a snack and shopping a bit, and Amelia saw the Easter Bunny. A miracle occurred, and there was NO line! So, she got to sit on his (?) lap and I simply have to share the picture!

She was equally excited about the two lollipops she ate. They had little bunnies stamped on them.

I was fixated on wondering where the Easter Bunny uses the bathroom. I mean, it could traumatize little kids if they saw the E.B. taking his or her head off in the restroom (I can think of worse visualizations, but I will refrain).

Trek to Florida

So, next week we spend 4 days with the in-laws in Pensacola, Florida, a place I would never visit if it weren't for the in-laws. How can I make this trip more fun? (Yes, I will take knitting).

I will find a way to visit yarn stores! I Googled and found two: King's Sewing and Knitting Center and Needle Delights. I understand there isn't much need for lots of warm sweaters down there in Steam Land, but WHAT ELSE IS THERE TO DO??

I'll definitely report on how my yarn store excursion was. I see it kind of like alcoholics have to find AA meetings in cities that they visit. I need to find my "home away from home," at the fiber hangouts. What can I say?

I Learn to Link

Today, it is my goal to learn linkage. Paloma sent me a tutorial to help me do this. By George, I think I've got it!

This is cool. I think even an un-mechanical-minded gal like me might even figure out this blogging thing. (Wonder if anyone will read this?)

If you need a laugh, you gotta check out Stuff on my Cat dot com.
It is the funniest site ever!

PS: Today, I officially was signed up for sp8.
Wish I didn't have to wait several weeks for it to start.....

The Boys

Simon and Zing.
They used to be the babies, before THE GIRL arrived.

How many more years can I buy yarn?

I am going to die at 80. When are you? Click here to find out!

Amelia loves shoes already...gotta love it.

Here she is, trying on Mommy's shoes. The stains on her clothing are chocolate...of course. She loves that already, too.

Having a two-year-old is great for learning to knit; I get the opportunity to make miniature sweaters. Good practice for me, and almost-instant gratification.

Time to Resurrect This Blog!

Ok, I am going to learn this, I am determined! My new friend, Paloma, is encouraging me (Hi, Pal! Get it? HAHA).

Bear with me as I continue this blog's construction. I plan to chronicle my knitting and crocheting activity, antics by Amelia, and various other ramblings.

Stay tuned!
